Servers Explained:
We are excited to introduce a revolutionary approach to hosting your land areas in our game, leveraging the power of player-owned servers. This innovative system not only enhances your gaming experience but also contributes to a more collaborative and cost-efficient environment.
How it works:
Dedicated Servers: You may be able to set up you own dedicated servers; where player oneβs server acts as the host and others join as clients. Unreal Engine provides comprehensive resources on setting up dedicated servers. For even more economical cloud hosting, consider compiling dedicated servers for AWS Graviton3 instances. We will provide user-friendly instructions closer to the inception of player land.
Land Partitioning: Our game world will be divided into distinct sections that can be hosted separately. Each player will only host their designated land area, significantly reducing computational and network loads.
Player-Managed Resources: You'll have the power to manage server resources based on your land's size and complexity, optimising resource allocation and reducing costs.
Dynamic Hosting: Our dynamic hosting system will activate servers when players are present and deactivate them during idle times. This approach ensures optimal server usage and minimal costs.
Community Collaboration: We encourage players to collaborate and share hosting resources. Those with larger land areas can support those with smaller areas, fostering a powerful sense of community ownership.
Are there any additional costs?
The landowners will collectively contribute towards the server running costs of Paradiso Island, whilst VerseX will contribute towards the running costs of the Paradiso island landscape, parks and areas of interest. This will enable the land plots to be decentralised and run by the users themselves without the need of a third-party.
